Hunter Mental Health is supporting a CAMHS Crisis Team within Avon and Wiltshire Partnership NHS Trust (AWP), and we’re looking for a skilled mental health professional to join their dynamic and supportive service.
Role: CAMHS Crisis Practitioner
Location: AWP – Avon and Wiltshire Partnership NHS Trust
Duration: 3-month contract (likely to extend)
Schedule: Full-time, long days or flexible shifts
Start date: ASAP
Hourly rate: £25-26 p/h (depending on experience & umbrella payment)

Delivering urgent mental health assessments and interventions for children and young people in crisis
Working within a multi-disciplinary team to provide safe, effective, and responsive care
Liaising with families, schools, and external agencies to ensure holistic support
Supporting care planning and safety planning tailored to individual needs
Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN), Social Worker or Occupational Therapist
Experience in CAMHS and/or crisis settings is essential
Enhanced DBS (we can assist with this if needed)
Ability to work autonomously and manage risk effectively in high-pressure situations
Full-time hours preferred
Long day shifts or flexible patterns available
3-month initial contract with strong likelihood of extension
Competitive hourly rate, paid via umbrella
