Key Responsibilities

As a Locum ITU Nurse, you’ll deliver high-level care to critically ill patients. Responsibilities include:

• Monitoring and managing ventilated patients and those requiring intensive support
• Administering IV medications and managing infusions
• Responding to rapidly changing patient conditions
• Supporting families and loved ones during critical care episodes
• Collaborating with doctors, physiotherapists, and the wider MDT
• Accurate, detailed documentation and handovers

✅ What You’ll Need

• NMC registration (Band 5)
• Proven experience in Intensive Care/High Dependency Units (ITU/HDU)
• Confidence in handling ventilators, central lines, and acute interventions
• UK driving license and access to a vehicle (if community-based travel is required)
• Excellent communication and decision-making skills
• A commitment to safe, compassionate, high-quality care
