NEW ROLE – Senior SEND Tribunals, Mediation & Complaints Professional – Up to £340 per day – Hybrid / Remote – 3 Months Initially
Hunter Gatherer MH are supporting a Local Authority with the urgent appointment of a Senior Professional to lead on SEND Tribunal Appeals, Mediation and Complaints. This is a critical interim role within the SEN Assessment & Review Service (SENARS), requiring a confident, experienced case manager who can hit the ground running.
Location: South East-based Local Authority (Hybrid – Remote considered for the right person)
Duration: 3 months initially (with scope to extend)
Rate: £300 – £340 per day (via umbrella)
️ Start: W/C 11th August – equipment collection required
Key Duties:
Lead end-to-end casework for SENDIST appeals
Represent the LA at tribunal hearings as needed
Manage all mediation and complaint cases
Liaise with legal teams and senior SEN officers
Provide legal input to team members where required
Maintain tribunal trackers and compliance records
Report directly to the SENARS Manager
Essential Experience:
✅ Strong knowledge of SEND legislation & statutory guidance
✅ Hands-on experience managing tribunal appeals & mediations
✅ Local Authority SEN background – 100% essential
✅ Able to represent the LA confidently and resolve complex disputes
✅ Highly organised with excellent written and verbal communication
Working Pattern:
Hybrid working preferred – weekly or fortnightly office attendance ideal
Fully remote considered only for highly experienced candidates
