Job Title: Clinical / Counselling Psychologist (Band 8a)
Location: Swindon
Duration: 3 months initially (with possible extension)
Schedule: 22.5 hours per week, flexible working pattern
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: TBC
Rate of Pay: £34.00 – £37.60 per hour (Umbrella, DOE)

A Day in the Life of a Psychologist:
Join our NHS service in Swindon, supporting service users with complex needs. Your core responsibilities will include:
Providing specialist psychological assessments and evidence-based interventions
Offering consultation and supervision to colleagues and trainees
Leading on formulations and psychological management of clients
Running group therapy and/or individual therapy as required
Participating in MDT discussions, service development, and clinical audits
Supporting staff with training, reflective practice, and psychological approaches
Requirements & Qualifications:
Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology
HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist
Significant post-qualification experience
Skilled in assessments, risk management, and evidence-based interventions
Ability to provide supervision, consultation, and teaching
Previous NHS experience desirable
Working Hours & Contract Duration:
This post offers 22.5 hours per week, with some flexibility around working pattern. Initially 3 months, with the possibility of extension depending on service need.
