Job Title: Band 6 Community Forensic Practitioner
Location: Surrey (bases in Chertsey & Dorking)
Duration: 3–6 months ongoing
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9am–5pm
Start Date: ASAP
Rate of Pay: £25 – £27 (must have CPN experience)

Join our specialist forensic team and play a vital role in supporting people with complex mental health needs who have offended or are at risk of offending. In this role, you will:
Carry a mixed caseload of community clients and those in supported placements
Undertake mental health assessments at police stations and magistrates’ courts
Liaise with and advise the criminal justice system, including police, lawyers, CPS, and probation
Deliver high-quality assessments and contribute to individual treatment plans
Act as Care Coordinator, ensuring timely and effective interventions
Work in collaboration with mainstream psychiatric services to support complex clients
Administer depot medication and provide nursing interventions where required
To be successful in this role, you will need:
NMC Registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN)
Experience in forensic or community mental health services
Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and its application in forensic care
Strong communication and multidisciplinary liaison skills
Ability to work flexibly across service bases (Chertsey and Dorking)
Car driver (valid driving licence)
This is a full-time, Monday to Friday role, 9am–5pm. The initial contract is 3–6 months with a strong likelihood of extension based on service needs.
