Residential Childcare Worker – Locum Contract (Newcastle)

The Role:

As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will be responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and stable environment for children in our care. You will play a vital role in their daily lives, helping them with their emotional, social, and developmental needs.

• Location: Newcastle, Tyne and Wear
• Contract Type: Full-time, 3-month Locum
• Start Date: ASAP (Immediate start preferred)

Pay & Shift Details:

• Hourly Rate: $\text{£15.00 – £16.00}$ per hour (PAYE or Umbrella options available)
• Working Hours: Core shifts are $\text{10:00}$ am – $\text{11:00}$ am (Note: This is a full-time role, and a typical shift pattern involves longer, complex hours that include the stated time and a sleep-in duty).
• Sleep-in Rate: $\text{£60.00}$ per sleep-in duty.

Requirements:

• Essential Qualification: You must possess a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent qualification, e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People’s Workforce – Social Care Pathway).
• Experience: Proven experience working with children or young people in a residential setting is highly desirable.
• Driving: Ability to drive and access to your own vehicle is highly beneficial due to the location and nature of the role.
