Locum CAMHS Practitioner (Band 7) – High Pay, Flexible Contract in Wiltshire!

Job Title: CAMHS Practitioner (Band 7)
Location: Swindon, Wiltshire
Duration: Ongoing locum
Schedule: Monday to Friday with weekend/Bank Holiday rota options, 09:00–18:00 (flexible)
Start Date: ASAP
Rate of Pay: £30ph (Umbrella)

What You’ll Be Doing:
As a CAMHS Practitioner, you will deliver specialist mental health support for children and young people in community and hospital settings. Key responsibilities include:

  • Mental health liaison in acute hospital settings for under-18s, including follow-up after discharge

  • Conducting assessments at duty and liaison level, including complex risk cases

  • Working with children and young people with eating disorders, providing NICE-aligned interventions

  • Delivering evidence-based therapies such as CBT, DBT, and coping skills interventions

  • Providing specialist mental health assessments and care plans both autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • Managing high-risk cases and complex mental health presentations in the community, schools, or home visits

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Qualified RMN, RNLD, OT with mental health experience, or Social Worker with NHS Band 6 equivalent experience

  • Current professional registration (NMC, HCPC, or relevant body)

  • Previous community CAMHS, hospital liaison, or mental health experience at Band 6/7 level

  • Ability to work autonomously and manage complex caseloads

  • Strong communication, assessment, and risk management skills

Working Hours & Contract Duration:
Flexible full-time locum, Monday–Friday with weekend and Bank Holiday options. 09:00–18:00 weekdays (flexible) or 10:00–18:00 on weekends/Bank Holidays. Contract has strong potential for extension based on performance and service needs.
