A Day in the Life

As a Band 5 Mental Health Wellbeing Practitioner, you will support adults with common and complex mental health difficulties within a multidisciplinary setting. Working in line with the national MWP curriculum, you will contribute to high-quality, recovery-focused care.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering evidence-based interventions in line with the national MWP curriculum (Adult Specialist Mental Health)

  • Supporting service users with assessment, formulation, and care planning

  • Managing a defined caseload under appropriate clinical supervision

  • Working collaboratively with MDT colleagues and wider services

  • Contributing to risk assessment, monitoring, and review processes

  • Maintaining accurate, timely clinical records in line with Trust policy


Requirements & Qualifications

Essential:

  • Graduate Certificate (Level 6) or Postgraduate Certificate (Level 7) in Mental Health and Wellbeing Practice

  • Qualification must align with the national curriculum for Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioners (Adult Specialist Mental Health)

  • Experience working with adults with mental health difficulties

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in emotionally sensitive environments

  • Ability to work autonomously while using supervision effectively

Desirable:

  • Experience working within NHS or community mental health services

  • Experience delivering brief or structured psychological interventions

  • Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team


Working Hours & Contract

  • 26 hours per week (0.7 WTE)

  • Part-time locum contract

  • Flexible working pattern subject to service need
