What You’ll Be Doing

Join our team as a Dual Diagnosis Specialist Nurse and play a key role in improving the lives of individuals with co-existing mental health and substance misuse issues. In this role, you will:

• Provide specialist mental health assessments and deliver tailored interventions
• Develop and implement joint working protocols between mental health and substance misuse services
• Support and train colleagues working with dual diagnosis service users
• Identify gaps in service provision and contribute to pathway and service design
• Improve referral pathways and communication between key services
• Manage a caseload of dual diagnosis service users as needed

Requirements & Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A current and valid NMC registration and pin
• Experience in substance misuse and/or mental health settings
• Experience working with individuals with co-morbid mental health and substance misuse issues
• Case management experience with clients with complex needs
• Knowledge and skills in therapeutic interventions for dual diagnosis
• Understanding of current mental health, substance misuse, and dual diagnosis policies

Working Hours & Contract Duration

This role offers a flexible locum position requiring availability from Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM. The contract is initially for three months with ongoing potential for extension based on performance and service needs.
