Why we give
We have a long-term commitment to doing business in an ethical, responsible and sustainable way. It’s why we strive for our people to show kindness and to feel pride. And why we encourage a culture where no act of kindness is too small.
We do it because it’s right, and it just feels right.
OUR CHARITIES
Hunter Gatherer are proud supporters of as a company is Last Night A DJ Saved My Life. A charitable foundation creating opportunities and fundraising initiatives to make a positive impact in support of children in crisis through campaigns like building wells and funding cleft palate operations. So it not only resolves serious medical issues but also puts a smile on a child’s face for life! Providing various art skills enables them to set up small businesses, like screen printing and mural painting. It all helps them to support themselves and their community. Because it's a small charity, the funds go directly to the causes and genuinely make a difference, which is why it's close to our hearts.
We also make an annual Christmas donation, and in 2022 we supported over 30 families at Christmas, supplying them with a full Christmas dinner. This year, we’re financially supporting LNADJSML to provide health insurance and mental health support for street children.
Beyond this, we encourage our team to share the causes closest to their own hearts and ensure that their colleagues can get involved. Like the group who are bravely stepping up to take on a Tough Mudder challenge for the second year running.
We also donated bedding and made a financial donation in aid of DEC for the people of Ukraine. And we make an annual group-wide effort for the McMillan Coffee morning, organising cake sales with other local businesses, holding bake offs – and enjoying the results!
Our Earth
We operate an active environmental policy developed in conjunction with our whole team through discussions and town hall meetings.
One exciting result is our partnership with Greenly, to understand and reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by monitoring our CO2 emissions in real time.
And these are just a few of the other green initiatives we are working on both in and outside work:
• On our annual Garden Day we plant wildflowers to increase pollination• Our plant-filled offices create a pleasant and fresh environment for our team
• We are installing water butts in our rural offices to collect water for our plants
• We only use eco-conscious toilet roll, sanitary and cleaning products
• We recycle everything and only use the printer when essential
• We have food waste bins in our offices to ensure it is separated and converted to mulch
• We even grind our own coffee beans to limit waste on pods – and make great coffee.
