A Role That Makes a Real Difference in Mental Health

Are you a dedicated Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) looking for a fulfilling role where you can truly make a difference? Do you have the passion and skills to help those with complex mental health needs recover, heal, and reintegrate into society? This is a unique opportunity for you to bring your expertise and experience to a team that prioritises patient-centred care.

At Hunter Gatherer Mental Health, we understand the importance of providing professionals with not just a job, but a career that inspires you to give your best every day. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will work directly with patients in a supportive, challenging, and rewarding environment that encourages growth and development.

We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Band 5 RMN to join our team. This is your chance to work in a role where no two days are the same, with opportunities to use your knowledge and creativity to support patients who require rehabilitation and recovery-focused care.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Band 5 RMN, you’ll be delivering high-quality care to individuals experiencing a range of mental health conditions. This will include:

  • Direct patient care: You will provide comprehensive mental health assessments, develop and implement care plans, and deliver one-on-one support for patients in a rehabilitation setting. You’ll play a key role in supporting patients to manage their condition and regain independence.
  • Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team: Working alongside doctors, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, you’ll contribute to holistic care planning that supports patients’ mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing.
  • Rehabilitation and recovery support: You’ll help individuals with mental health issues transition back to the community and support them in living independently. You will also work with patients who may have a history of criminal behaviour or challenging behaviours, delivering care based on a strengths-based model.
  • Medication management: Administering medications, monitoring their effects, and managing any changes in medication as needed to ensure the best outcomes for your patients.
  • Risk management: Ensuring the safety of both patients and staff by identifying risks and responding quickly and effectively to any issues that arise.
  • Promoting positive outcomes: Your role will be key in improving patient outcomes through rehabilitation, recovery-focused care, and working in partnership with the patients to empower them on their journey to recovery.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • You must be a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a valid NMC pin.
  • A minimum of 1 year’s experience in mental health nursing is preferred but not essential. We also welcome applications from newly qualified nurses.
  • Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team, managing your workload efficiently while remaining calm under pressure.
  • A commitment to providing person-centred care and maintaining the dignity and privacy of your patients.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to working in different clinical settings and responding to the needs of patients in real-time.
