We’re working with a well-established CAMHS Urgent Care Team looking for an experienced Mental Health Practitioner to support young people in crisis. This is a great opportunity to join a fast-paced service on a locum basis.

  • Role: Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner – CAMHS Urgent Care Team

  • Location: [Location – can be specified as needed]

  • Duration: 3-month contract (likely to extend)

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm

  • Start: ASAP

  • Rate: £26.00 per hour (umbrella)

What You’ll Be Doing:
As part of the Urgent Care Team, you’ll provide rapid assessment, formulation and short-term interventions for children and young people presenting in crisis. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Completing urgent mental health assessments

  • Delivering brief therapeutic interventions

  • Liaising with A&E, paediatrics, crisis and community CAMHS teams

  • Providing risk management and safety planning

  • Supporting smooth transitions into appropriate ongoing care


Requirements:

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker, or Therapist

  • CAMHS and/or crisis experience essential

  • Able to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary setting

  • Car driver often preferred but not always essential


Working Hours & Contract:

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday

  • Initial 3-month contract with potential to extend

  • Competitive hourly rate and weekly pay
