Junior Consultant / Associate Specialist – General Adult Community Mental Health Services
Location: Channel Islands
Rate: £90 – £120 per hour, depending on experience
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
Team: Adult Community Mental Health Services


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Providing senior clinical leadership within the Duty and Intervention Team, supporting complex case management across specialist mental health services

  • Delivering assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for adult patients within a multidisciplinary team setting, with a focus on community-based crisis and ongoing care

  • Participating in the on-call rota, offering first-line consultant input as part of a 1:6/7 rota

  • Supporting junior colleagues through clinical supervision and contributing to teaching and training activities

  • Engaging in clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery

  • Contributing actively to service development and management alongside consultants and the clinical director


Requirements & Qualifications

Essential:

  • Full GMC registration

  • At least 3 years’ post-registration experience at Associate Specialist or equivalent level, with recent substantial experience in Adult Psychiatry

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams

  • Willingness to participate in a first-line on-call rota (1:6)

  • Experience in teaching, clinical audit, and service improvement

  • Strong interpersonal skills and leadership potential

Desirable:

  • MRCPsych or equivalent

  • Section 12 approval

  • Expertise in adult ADHD and complex psychiatric conditions

  • Experience with research and service development


Working Hours & Contract Duration

  • Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm

  • 6 month ongoing assignment
