Join our team as an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) and play a vital role in safeguarding and supporting individuals experiencing acute mental health crises. In this role, you will:
Undertake Mental Health Act assessments and coordinate statutory interventions under the Act
Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments to inform risk management and care planning
Collaborate with medical professionals, social care teams, and crisis services to ensure safe, lawful, and person-centred outcomes
Lead on safeguarding and capacity assessments, ensuring compliance with legal frameworks and ethical practice
Maintain accurate, timely documentation in line with professional and legislative standards
To be successful in this role, you will need:
A current AMHP qualification and registration with Social Work England or NMC (if dual-qualified)
Demonstrable experience working with adults in acute mental health settings
Strong knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding procedures
Excellent communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills under pressure
The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
A commitment to delivering high-quality, rights-based care to vulnerable individuals
Working Hours & Contract Duration:
This role offers a flexible working position requires availability from Monday to Friday with flexibility where possible. The contract is for 3 months with a strong possibility of extension based on performance and service needs.
