JOB DESCRIPTION

Are you a Band 6 Child Protection Social Worker looking for a rewarding locum role in Southend? We have an exciting opportunity with great pay and flexibility!

• Job Title: Child Protection Social Worker 
• Location: Southend
• Duration: 3-6 months ongoing
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
• Start Date: ASAP – 4 weeks
• Rate of Pay: £33-£35 per hour

What You’ll Be Doing:
Join our team as a Child Protection Social Worker and play a key role in improving the lives of children and families in need of safeguarding support. In this role, you will:

• Conduct detailed assessments of children’s safety and welfare.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Provide interventions to ensure the safety and well-being of children in care.
• Liaise with other agencies, including police and health professionals, to safeguard children.
• Maintain accurate records and case documentation in line with regulatory requirements.

Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A current and valid Social Work registration and HCPC pin.
• Experience in child protection and safeguarding.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A commitment to delivering high-quality, child-centered care.

Working Hours & Contract Duration:
This role offers a flexible working position, requiring availability Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with flexibility where possible. The contract is for 3-6 months ongoing, with a strong possibility of extension based on performance and service needs.
