Job Title: Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner – Access Team
Location: Stockport (Unit 2, Cirtek House, Thomas Street, SK1 3QD)
Duration: 6 month ongoing
Schedule: Monday to Friday (9am to 5pm – flexible or condensed hours considered)
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: Ongoing (initial contract through to February 2026)
Rate of Pay: £25 to £27 per hour

Join the Stockport Access Team and play a pivotal role in frontline mental health services. In this role, you will:
Perform urgent and comprehensive mental health assessments
Manage risk and develop short-term support and crisis intervention plans
Fast-track and signpost patients to appropriate community or specialist services
Work closely with MDTs to ensure safe and effective care transitions
Support the development of the team’s gateway and triage function
To be successful in this role, you will need:
A valid NMC or HCPC registration
Experience in community mental health, triage, or access/gateway teams
Sound knowledge of the Mental Health Act and safeguarding procedures
Strong risk assessment and crisis management skills
The ability to work both independently and as part of a dynamic team
This role offers full-time hours, Monday to Friday, with flexible or condensed schedules available. Initial 6-month contract with high potential for extension based on service need and performance.
