Band 6 Community Mental Health Nurse (CPN) – Canterbury, Kent
£27 per hour | Monday–Friday | 9AM–5PM | Full-time (37.5 hours)
Location: Canterbury (on-site only)
Start: ASAP | End: 3 months from start date (with potential to extend)
Are you a skilled and motivated Band 6 CPN looking for your next locum opportunity? We have an exciting position available in Canterbury with a great rate, a supportive team, and the chance to make a real difference in the community.
You’ll be working in a community mental health service, supporting adults aged 18–70 with a range of mental health needs—from mild anxiety to complex trauma and psychosis.
Key duties include:
Conducting psychosocial assessments of new referrals
Screening and triaging referrals alongside senior clinicians
Completing clinical risk assessments and managing safeguarding concerns
Visiting service users in their homes when needed
Keeping accurate records using KMPT RIO, eMEDS, and In-Phase systems
NMC registration (Mental Health Nurse)
Proven experience in conducting clinical risk assessments (assessed via scenario-based interview)
Strong IT skills (Microsoft Outlook & Word)
In-date training: Safeguarding, Personal Safety, Breakaway Techniques, and Data Protection
Please note: This is not a remote role – candidates must be able to reliably commute to Canterbury.
