Job Title: Mental Health Social Worker
Location: Manchester
Duration: 6-month initial contract (strong chance of extension)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Start Date: ASAP
Rate of Pay: £29 to £31 per hour

What You’ll Be Doing:

Key responsibilities include:

• Support adults with complex mental health needs through holistic assessments and care planning
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to promote recovery and social inclusion
• Lead safeguarding interventions and ensure compliance with statutory frameworks (e.g. Mental Health Act, Care Act)
• Engage with service users, families, and carers to develop person-centred support plans
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to CPA reviews and risk assessments
• Deliver culturally sensitive care tailored to diverse communities

Requirements & Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

• A recognised Social Work qualification (BA, MA, DipSW, etc.)

• Registration with Social Work England

• Minimum 2 years’ post-qualifying experience in children’s social care

• Strong assessment, decision-making and report-writing skills

• Proven ability to manage risk and work under pressure

Working Hours & Contract Details:

• Full-time hours (37.5 per week)

• Monday to Friday schedule

• 3-month rolling contract with ongoing extension potential

• Stable team with excellent leadership and support
