Band 6 Prison Nurse – Isle of Wight
Hunter Gatherer Mental Health are looking for a Band 6 Prison Nurse to join a well-supported service. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident, compassionate nurse to make a real difference while working in a challenging yet rewarding environment.
Role: Band 6 Prison Nurse
Location: Isle of Wight
Duration: 3 months ongoing
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: TBC
Schedule: Monday to Friday – 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM OR 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Rate of Pay: £26.50 per hour
As part of the prison healthcare team, you’ll be working closely with offenders to provide high-quality nursing care. No two days are the same – from triaging new arrivals and managing long-term conditions to supporting mental health needs and responding to urgent situations, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring patient wellbeing and safety.
✅ Band 6 Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN)
✅ Prison clearance or previous prison experience is highly desirable
✅ Ability to work independently and as part of a wider MDT
✅ Strong clinical and risk assessment skills
This is a full-time Monday to Friday position with flexible shifts of either 8–4 or 9–5, giving you a healthy work-life balance.
