£35 per hour | 15–20 Hours per Week | Remote

Hunter Gatherer Mental Health are supporting North Yorkshire Council’s Occupational Health & Wellbeing Service to recruit an experienced Occupational Health Advisor to join their specialist practitioner team.

This is a flexible, autonomous role within a well-established in-house Occupational Health service delivering support to Council employees, Schools & Academies, and external contracts.


The Role

You will join a small, experienced team of qualified Occupational Health Advisers and Technicians, led by a Senior OH Adviser (Clinical Manager), reporting into the Health & Wellbeing Manager.

The role is predominantly remote following initial induction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a varied occupational health case management caseload

  • Providing evidence-based, practical and solution-focused advice to managers

  • Delivering clear, defensible reports that support effective organisational decision-making

  • Supporting sickness absence management and return-to-work planning

  • Advising on reasonable adjustments and fitness for work

  • Contributing to a proactive Occupational Health and Wellbeing strategy

You will have significant autonomy to manage your own workload while working collaboratively within a supportive team structure.


Working Pattern

  • 15–20 hours per week

  • First week on-site at County Hall, Northallerton (induction and equipment collection)

  • Fully remote thereafter

  • Flexible working arrangements available


Requirements

  • Registered Occupational Health Advisor (NMC registered nurse with recognised OH qualification)

  • Proven case management experience within Occupational Health

  • Strong report writing and advisory skills

  • Ability to work autonomously and manage own caseload effectively

  • Confident engaging with managers and stakeholders at all levels

  • Customer-focused, performance-driven and solution-oriented
