A Day in the Life

Step into a leadership role where your work directly supports bereaved children and families during some of life’s most challenging moments.

As a Clinical Services Manager, you will:

  • Lead and manage a dedicated clinical team delivering bereavement and/or therapeutic support
  • Ensure families receive a compassionate, high-quality service from first contact through to ongoing care
  • Oversee clinical governance, maintaining standards in line with best practice and regulatory frameworks (e.g. BACP)
  • Provide line management, supervision, and support to therapists, bereavement workers, volunteers, and students
  • Monitor clinical delivery through case reviews, supervision structures, and documentation oversight
  • Manage a small caseload, including complex cases and clinical assessments
  • Drive service development, contributing to new initiatives, group work, workshops, and events
  • Take ownership of operational planning, safeguarding compliance, and service performance reporting
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing development of clinical staff
  • Contribute to senior leadership discussions and organisational strategy

You’ll play a key role in shaping services that ensure no child grieves alone.


Requirements & Qualifications

Essential:

  • Qualified practitioner (e.g. Social Worker or Accredited Therapist)
  • Proven experience managing clinical staff in a similar setting
  • Strong experience in bereavement, grief, or loss-focused services
  • Experience in budgeting, service planning, and reporting
  • Background working within clinical or therapeutic services

Skills:

  • Strong IT proficiency (Microsoft Office 365, Teams, Zoom, client management systems)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities
  • Ability to manage complex workloads and lead teams effectively
