Band 6 RMN – Liaison & Diversion Mental Health Nurse – York – £26 per hour

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Band 6 Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join a Liaison & Diversion team based in York. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary environment, providing essential mental health support to individuals within the criminal justice system.

About the Role

As a Liaison & Diversion Mental Health Nurse, you will play a crucial role in assessing and supporting individuals with mental health needs who come into contact with the police and criminal justice services. You will conduct mental health assessments, provide early interventions, and ensure individuals are directed to appropriate services. This role requires on-site working and is available on both a full-time and part-time basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for individuals within the criminal justice system.
  • Provide short-term interventions and ensure effective onward referrals to appropriate services.
  • Work collaboratively with police, probation services, social care, and other healthcare professionals to support vulnerable individuals.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in line with professional and legal standards.
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed and risks are effectively managed.

Requirements:

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) – Band 6
  • Previous experience in a Liaison & Diversion role is essential
  • Police vetting clearance is required
  • Strong risk assessment and crisis intervention skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills

Working Hours & Pay Rate:

  • Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
  • Weekends: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Pay Rate: £26 per hour
  • Flexible working available with full-time and part-time options
