Social Worker – Adult Learning Disability Team
Location: Argyll and Bute
Rate: £40.00 per hour
Start Date: ASAP – 4 weeks
Contract Duration: 3–6 months ongoing
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm


What You’ll Be Doing

We are seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join the Adult Learning Disability Team in Argyll and Bute. You will contribute to the community care function of the service by undertaking assessments, care planning, monitoring, and reviews for adults with learning disabilities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking and coordinating assessments using Personal Outcome Planning tools in partnership with service users, carers, and other professionals

  • Developing and managing care packages tailored to individual needs

  • Liaising with Community Care Managers and service providers to ensure effective service delivery

  • Maintaining accurate records using the department’s Eclipse system

  • Participating in supervision, training, and the out-of-hours rota where required

  • Supporting the team manager in delivering high-quality, cost-effective services


Requirements & Qualifications

To be considered, you must have:

  • A recognised Social Work qualification (DipSW, CQSW, Degree, or Postgraduate in Social Work)

  • Current registration with the SSSC

  • Experience in care management and assessments for adults with learning disabilities

  • Strong working knowledge of the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and make informed decisions

  • Willingness to travel across Argyll and Bute as required

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of local services for adults with disabilities

  • Experience working within integrated health and social care teams

  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm

  • Start Date: ASAP – 4 weeks

  • Contract: 3–6 months ongoing
