ADHD & ASD Service – Surrey (Redhill)
£30 per hour | 37.5 hours per week | 3–6 Month Contract

Hunter Gatherer Mental Health are supporting a Surrey-based NHS Children and Young People’s Service (CYPS) to recruit a Band 7 Specialist Neurodevelopment Practitioner to support their ADHD and ASD diagnostic pathway.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established NHS neurodevelopmental MDT and contribute directly to reducing waiting times while maintaining safe, structured and NICE-aligned diagnostic assessments.


The Role

You will:

  • Deliver structured ADHD and ASD diagnostic assessments for children and young people

  • Complete ADOS-2 assessments within a multidisciplinary framework

  • Undertake dual ADHD/ASD assessments where clinically indicated

  • Contribute to diagnostic formulation and detailed clinical reporting

  • Support safe and timely progression through the neurodevelopmental pathway

  • Work collaboratively with families, schools and partner agencies

There may be a requirement to travel between service hubs to complete ADOS-2 and dual assessments.


Essential Requirements

  • NMC Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN)

  • ADOS-2 trained (essential)

  • Experience delivering ADHD diagnostic assessments

  • CYP neurodevelopmental service experience

  • Strong safeguarding and risk assessment capability

Desirable:

  • SystmOne experience

  • Previous NHS neurodevelopmental pathway experience


What’s on Offer

  • £30 per hour

  • Full-time Monday–Friday (37.5 hours)

  • Initial 3-month contract with strong likelihood of extension

  • Hybrid working may be considered at interview (Up to 2 days remote)

This role would suit a confident Band 7 practitioner who is comfortable working autonomously while contributing to a high-functioning MDT.
