🏥 A Day in the Life

As the Lead Clinical Psychologist within a specialist Tier 4 CAMHS inpatient unit, you will take strategic and clinical responsibility for the delivery of psychological therapies across the service.

Your day may include:

  • Leading psychological assessment, formulation, and intervention for adolescents with complex and high-risk presentations

  • Providing clinical leadership and supervision to psychology colleagues and wider MDT members

  • Shaping and developing trauma-informed therapeutic pathways within the inpatient setting

  • Attending MDT meetings and contributing to risk management and discharge planning

  • Liaising closely with Tier 3 CAMHS and Crisis Teams to ensure smooth transitions of care

  • Working collaboratively with Education, Social Services, and voluntary/private sector organisations involved in young people’s care

  • Occasional community visits to young people and families across the local geographical patch

This is a senior leadership position requiring confidence, autonomy, and strong multidisciplinary working skills.


✅ Requirements & Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist

  • Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology

  • Extensive post-qualification CAMHS experience

  • Experience working within inpatient or Tier 4 settings

  • Demonstrable senior leadership and supervision experience

  • Strong formulation and trauma-informed practice skills

  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)


🕒 Working Hours & Contract Duration

  • 30 hours per week (0.8 WTE)

  • 3-month contract initially

  • ASAP start available

  • NHS agency pay rates
