Remote Autism Assessors (ADOS-2 / ADI-R)

Rates:

  • Mental Health Nurse (DOE): £40 – £55 per hour

  • Psychologist (DOE): £45 – £75 per hour

  • Psychiatrist (DOE): £80 – £120 per hour

Hunter Gatherer Mental Health are seeking experienced clinicians trained in ADOS-2 and/or ADI-R to deliver high-quality remote autism assessments for children, young people, and adults. This is a flexible locum opportunity with competitive pay, offering the chance to support individuals and families through accurate, timely, and neurodiversity-affirming diagnostics.

The Role

You will conduct autism assessments using recognised tools (ADOS-2, ADI-R, and screening assessments), contribute to diagnostic conclusions, and provide feedback to patients and families. This role requires commitment to at least three assessment slots per week.

Pay Structure

  • Screening Assessment – 30 minutes (15 minutes with patient, 15 minutes write-up)

  • ADOS-2 Assessment – 4 hours (up to 90 minutes with patient, 2 hours write-up, 30 minutes feedback)

  • ADI-R Assessment – 5 hours (up to 2.5 hours with informant, 2 hours write-up, 30 minutes feedback)

  • Did Not Attend (DNA) – Paid for 1 hour (excludes screenings)

  • Cancellations – Not payable

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and score ADOS-2 and/or ADI-R assessments with accuracy

  • Gather developmental history and collateral information where required

  • Deliver feedback sensitively to patients and families

  • Prepare high-quality clinical reports

  • Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team

  • Maintain professional records in line with standards and regulations

Requirements

  • Qualified professional (Psychologist, Psychiatrist, Mental Health Nurse, or related discipline)

  • Certified training in ADOS-2 and/or ADI-R

  • Experience conducting autism assessments across age groups

  • Current registration with relevant professional body (HCPC, GMC, NMC etc.)

  • Strong clinical judgement and communication skills

  • Ability to commit to at least 3 assessment slots per week
