About the Service

The Clinic provides evidence-based psychological therapies and psychiatry services in the heart of Surrey. Offering CBT, DBT, CFT, EMDR, and DBR, the practice combines scientific rigour with compassionate, ethically grounded care. Clients are supported both face-to-face in Guildford and online, addressing a range of needs including anxiety, depression, OCD, EUPD, perinatal mental health, and life transitions.

As Clinical Services Manager, you’ll ensure the highest standards of clinical governance, supervise and mentor clinicians, and help shape service development and quality improvement.


Purpose of the Role

The Clinical Services Manager is responsible for the safe, ethical, and high-quality delivery of therapeutic services across the organisation. Working closely with the Clinical Governance Team and Operations Manager, you will lead on governance, supervision, risk management, and service improvement—maintaining excellence in client care and professional standards.


Key Responsibilities

Clinical Governance & Quality Assurance

  • Maintain clinical policies, risk frameworks, and governance structures.

  • Conduct audits, monitor incidents, safeguarding, and compliance.

  • Track performance indicators (wait times, outcomes, cancellations).

Clinical Supervision & Team Support

  • Provide direct clinical supervision, consultation, and reflective practice groups.

  • Ensure clinician compliance with supervision, CPD, and professional registration.

  • Support onboarding and development of new therapeutic staff.

Client Pathways & Care Coordination

  • Manage referral intake, triage, and client-therapist matching.

  • Support risk management for complex cases and oversee continuity of care.

Service Development & Innovation

  • Identify and deliver service improvement initiatives.

  • Design and evaluate group and specialist therapy programmes.

  • Lead on data-driven quality improvement and evaluation.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Maintain governance documentation, CQC and audit records.

  • Produce regular reports on risk, outcomes, and service performance.

  • Ensure compliance with UKCP, BACP, HCPC, GDPR, and insurance standards.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Partner with the Operations Manager to align clinical and operational goals.

  • Contribute to strategic planning, recruitment, and budget discussions.

  • Represent the service at leadership forums and external engagements.

Clinical Work

  • Provide direct client therapy using evidence-based approaches.


Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • Accredited qualification (UKCP, BACP, HCPC, or equivalent).

  • Minimum 5 years’ post-qualification experience in clinical practice.

  • Proven experience in supervision and leadership.

  • Strong knowledge of clinical governance, risk, and safeguarding.

  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills.

  • Commitment to evidence-based, ethical practice.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in private or multidisciplinary settings.

  • Prior service management or leadership experience.

  • Familiarity with digital clinical systems (EHR, outcomes platforms).

  • Experience in research, evaluation, or service development.
