We are supporting a specialist private mental health provider that requires an experienced Practitioner Psychologist to provide long-term maternity cover at its eating disorder service in Midhurst. The post is available for three days per week and would suit a clinician with experience supporting adults with complex eating disorders and associated mental health needs.

Middlewood Clinic is a specialist service providing care and treatment for adults with eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and atypical eating disorders.
• Completing initial, diagnostic, cognitive and psychological assessments
• Delivering individual and group psychological interventions
• Formulating and implementing evidence-based treatment plans for service users with complex presentations
• Managing an allocated clinical caseload and contributing to risk assessments
• Working closely with the wider multidisciplinary team to support coordinated care
• Facilitating reflective practice sessions and contributing to staff training where required
The position reports to the Consultant Psychologist and involves assessment, therapeutic intervention, multidisciplinary working, risk assessment and staff development activity.
• Current HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist
• A BPS-recognised psychology qualification and relevant postgraduate training
• Chartered Psychologist status
• Experience applying psychological knowledge within a clinical mental health setting
• Confidence working autonomously with complex presentations
• Strong communication, formulation and multidisciplinary working skills
• Previous eating disorder experience would be highly beneficial
The provider is seeking an HCPC-registered psychologist with appropriate postgraduate qualifications, evidence-based practice knowledge and previous clinical experience.
This is a part-time locum position covering three days each week. The successful psychologist will work as part of an established multidisciplinary team within the clinic, with the specific working days and contract arrangements agreed during the recruitment process.
