About the Client & Role

Hunter Mental Health is delighted to be partnering with a leading private hospital group to recruit a qualified Clinical or Counselling Psychologist. Operating across specialised services in Barnet and Mill Hill, this hospital is undergoing an exciting period of establishment growth alongside providing internal maternity cover.

The role involves working within dedicated inpatient services catering to two distinct age streams: 8–18 years and 18–25 years. Unlike short-term acute settings, the majority of patient admissions here are long-term (6 to 9 months). This unique clinical environment allows you the time and stability to deliver comprehensive formulations, implement deep psychological interventions, and witness sustainable, rewarding patient progression.

Key Clinical Focus

Working collaboratively with a highly supportive multidisciplinary team, you will provide expert psychological care for complex clinical presentations. Our client is particularly keen to speak with clinicians possessing experience or a strong interest in:

  • Eating Disorders (ED) or intensive inpatient environments.

  • Challenging behaviours, Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), and Personality Disorders.

  • Complex PTSD and forensic backgrounds.

Requirements

  • A post-graduate doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology.

  • Valid and active registration with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist.

  • Proven experience working within inpatient settings or managing highly complex caseloads.

  • A collaborative, resilient mindset with a passion for long-term rehabilitative care.

What is on Offer

  • Excellent Work-Life Balance: True flexibility with both full-time and part-time positions available to suit your lifestyle.

  • Long-Term Investment: While our client welcomes interim locum applications to support the team immediately, the primary goal is securing permanent clinicians to join their expanding, permanent establishment.

  • Strong Leadership: Work within a service directed by an engaged, clinician-focused leadership team dedicated to staff development and high standards of care.

How to Apply

As this role is dropping on NHS Jobs in the next 48 hours, early applications are highly encouraged.
