We’re looking for a dedicated and experienced Band 7 IPC Nurse to join the Infection Prevention and Control team. Could this be your next opportunity?

Position: Band 7 Infection Prevention and Control Nurse (IPC Nurse)
Trust: North London NHS Foundation Trust
Location: Partnership-wide:

  • C&I: 1st Floor, East Wing, St Pancras Hospital, 4 St Pancras Way, London NW1 0PE
  • BEH: Chase Building, Chase Farm Hospital, The Ridgeway, Enfield, EN2 8JL
    Ward/Department: Infection Prevention and Control Team
    Schedule: Monday to Friday (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
    Band: Band 7
    Pay Rate: Up to £35 per hour
    Contract Length: 3-6 months ongoing
    Start Date: ASAP

A Typical Day in This Role
As a Band 7 IPC Nurse, you’ll be pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of infection prevention across the trust. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, implementing, and evaluating infection prevention strategies and policies.
  • Providing expert advice and support to clinical and non-clinical teams.
  • Leading and conducting infection prevention audits and risk assessments.
  • Delivering training and education programs on IPC practices.
  • Utilizing Microsoft Office applications to analyze and report on infection trends.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with IPC guidelines and best practices.
  • Acting as a resource for the organization during outbreak management and infection investigations.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Knowledge & Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in infection prevention and control is mandatory.
  • Skills: Strong IT proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Approach: A commitment to patient safety and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Hours and Duration
This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week). The contract is for an initial 3 to 6 months, with potential for extension.
