Job description
Hunter Mental Health is currently working alongside a fantastic CAMHS Team within a NHS Trust who are well known to consistently provide a wide range of social care services, health and mental health service in the Devon area. They provide care for individuals across all age ranges and work closely with all specialists to ensure that our services are well-integrated and wide-ranging.

They offer specialist inpatient and community services that support physical and mental health and specialist inpatient mental health, learning disability, addiction and brain injury services. The NHS Trust is one of only three trusts in the UK that offer high secure mental health facilities.
We are looking for an experienced RMN or social worker to join this service on a 37.5-hour locum contract which is an initial 6-month contract with a strong intent to extend further. You must have access to a car as you will be required to do home visits, previous experience in Crisis would also be ideal.

Requirements and qualifications required for this role:
- Current and valid registration with the NMC or SWE
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care
- Must be a car driver and have access to a car
- Ability to carry and manage a caseload of patients
- Previous CYP Mental Health experience
Key Info:
To work as Early Help practitioner to deliver assessments, advice and signposting to community services and schools working with children and young people who may present with emerging mental health difficulties. Community Experience would be essential for this role. Co-ordination and implementation of evidence based targeted interventions in a timely manner, in collaboration with the other clinicians in the Early Help pathway. To ensure that children and young people access timely assessments and the appropriate targeted interventions. To support the delivery of evidence-based programmes for children and young people with mental health issues. Take represent CAMHS in multi-agency meetings such as EHAT, SEND meetings or child protection meetings to co-ordinate and have oversight of mental health element of a multi-agency plan around a child. To function as a member of the locality facing CAMHS Early Help pathway taking appropriate responsibility for the implementation of decisions made by the team. Ensure planned interventions are implemented effectively and evaluated using Routine Outcome Monitoring (ROMS) Participate in the delivery of training programmes for schools and community services from a portfolio of available CAMHS training Maintain standards of care to highest level within available resources. To liaise effectively with the other CAMHS community teams across the city. To develop and maintain relationships with providers statutory and non-statutory. To maintain confidentiality in respect of the young people at all times. Communicate clearly with children and young people, their families, and all other health professional groups about their health problems. Actively participate in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives, e.g. clinical audit, essence of care or clinical policy development. Ensure that children and young people are encouraged to play a part in decision making about the help they need and how they can access specific interventions. This is to promote person-centred planning. Contribute to the provision of the advice line, providing advice, support, sign posting and resources. |
