Band 6 Learning Disabilities CPN – South London – 3 to 6 Month Ongoing Contract

We’re looking for a dedicated, compassionate, and experienced Learning Disabilities Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN). Could this be you?

Here’s what you need to know:

Position: Band 6 Learning Disabilities CPN
Location: South London
Duration: 3-6 months ongoing
Schedule: Monday to Friday (09:00am-17:00pm)
Start Date: ASAP
Pay Rate: £27-£30 per hour

A Typical Day in This Role

As a Band 6 Learning Disabilities CPN, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in the community. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive, autonomous assessments of individuals’ mental health, social, and environmental needs.
  • Developing and delivering tailored care plans to meet each person’s unique requirements.
  • Providing crisis intervention and safeguarding support as needed.
  • Utilizing evidence-based practices to assess, plan, and implement interventions.
  • Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, families, carers, and external agencies to ensure cohesive and effective care.
  • Keeping accurate and up-to-date patient records in line with professional and organizational standards.
  • Acting as a key advocate for individuals with learning disabilities, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.
  • Staying informed about changes in mental health legislation and best practices to deliver the highest standard of care.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualifications: Active registration with the NMC as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Learning Disabilities Nurse (RNLD).
  • Experience: Proven experience working with individuals with learning disabilities and mental health needs.
  • Skills: Strong communication, advocacy, and interpersonal skills.
  • Approach: A commitment to compassionate, person-centered care.

Working Hours and Duration

This is a Monday-to-Friday role with flexible hours to suit your schedule. The initial contract will be for 3 to 6 months, with potential for extension.
