Role: Crisis CAMHS Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN)
Band: 6
Setting: Community-based with travel to local hospitals to assess young people on the wards
Location: East Midlands, UK
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: 6-12 months
Shift Pattern: 7-day service with shifts either from 8am-8pm or a mixture of 8am-4pm/12pm-8pm. Set and flexible shifts will be considered.
Pay Rate: £26 per hour (days), £31 per hour (nights/Saturdays), £36 per hour (Sundays/Bank Holidays)

The team is committed to offering timely and effective crisis assessments and interventions, ensuring young people receive the care they need for a safe discharge and ongoing support.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) to join the Crisis CAMHS team. As a Band 6 CPN, you will be responsible for conducting crisis assessments for young people in local hospitals and community settings. This role requires flexibility, excellent clinical skills, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive mental health crisis assessments for young people in local hospitals and community clinics.
- Travel to one or more hospital venues during your shift to perform assessments.
- Assess young people referred by community professionals, such as GPs, typically in a clinic setting.
- Ensure assessments and interventions are completed within a 48-hour KPI timeframe.
- Participate in the 111 phone support service, providing mental health support to the public.
- Make referrals to appropriate services based on assessment outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the Carenotes system.
Requirements:
- Qualification: Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with current NMC registration.
- Experience: Experience in mental health crisis assessment and intervention, particularly with young people.
- Skills: Excellent assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- System Knowledge: Proficiency with Carenotes or similar in-house computer systems.
- License: Must have a valid driver's license and access to a car.
- Flexibility: Ability to work set or flexible shifts as part of a 7-day service.
