Job description
Position: Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN)
Team: Psychiatric Liaison Team
Location: Hospital Setting
Employment Type: Full-Time or Part-Time
Hours: Flexible hours covering a 24/7 period
Rates:
- Days: £25.50 per hour
- Nights/Saturdays: £30.50 per hour
- Sundays/Bank Holidays: £35.50 per hour
Start Date: ASAP
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialist mental health assessments and interventions for patients presenting in the hospital with psychiatric needs.
- Conduct risk assessments and formulate appropriate care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Offer crisis intervention and support to individuals experiencing acute mental health crises.
- Liaise with community mental health services to facilitate seamless transitions for patients between hospital and community care settings.
- Provide advice, guidance, and support to hospital staff on managing mental health-related issues.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with professional and organizational standards.
- Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and clinical supervision sessions to enhance practice and ensure high-quality care delivery.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Registered Nurse with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
- Post-registration qualification in mental health nursing (RMN).
- Experience working in psychiatric liaison or similar acute mental health settings is desirable but not essential.
- Strong assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing clinical situations.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development.
