Job Description
- To support the Haematology Clinical Nurse Specialists in providing specialist haematology knowledge, advice, information and Education to patients, carers, health care professionals and relevant others.
- You will be in contact with patients, careers, multiprofessional teams both external and internal to the Trust, Network Colleagues, and the public.
- To support the Haematology Clinical Nurse Specialist in service delivery ensuring that it meets national recommendations and directives for patients with cancer.
- To support the Haematology Clinical Nurse Specialist in Education and Training of staff within the diversion on the care of Haematology patients
- To support the Haematology Nurse Specialists in providing specialist psychological, social, and practical support that is responsive to the perceptions and needs of patients with haematological disorders and their families.
- Participate and contribute to the weekly Haematology local and SMDT Multidisciplinary team meetings including Leukaemia and Myeloma, Lymphoma and BMT teleconference meeting with Addenbrookes hospital.
- To clinically review Haematology patients in Day Care, including patient assessment and treatment plan with day-unit staff and support staff.
- To support the Haematology Clinical Nurse Specialists in clinically reviewing in-patients and supporting staff on the ward
- To attend Haematology clinics and support the Clinical Nurse Specialists in providing specialist psychological, social, and practical support that is responsive to the perceptions and needs of patients with Haematological disorders.
- To organise appointments and procedures and follow-up results for Haematology patients.
- To assist with procedures for Haematology patients including IT chemotherapy, stem cell re[1]infusions, line removals and Bone marrows.
