Job Opportunity: Specialist Psychologist (Eating Disorders)

Contract: 4-6 months (potential for extension)
Location: NW London
Hours: 3 days per week (Monday, Tuesday/Wednesday, plus a flexible third day)
Pay: £45-£50 per hour (umbrella), negotiable based on experience. Higher rates available for highly relevant experience.

Hunter MH, on behalf of our valued client, is seeking an experienced Psychologist with expertise in eating disorders to join a dynamic team at a 26-bed unit for young people aged 12-18. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact in a highly supportive and collaborative environment.

About the Role

As part of this dedicated team, you will work with young patients presenting with complex conditions, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and other intricate mental health challenges. Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering individual therapy sessions with a focus on eating disorders.

  • Participating fully in multidisciplinary ward rounds (Tuesday or Wednesday).

  • Leading or co-facilitating therapy groups.

  • Conducting detailed psychological formulations.

  • Attending and contributing to PCA meetings, patient reviews, and reflective practice sessions.

  • Collaborating closely with the wider multidisciplinary team.

What We’re Looking For

  • Essential: Qualified Psychologist

  • Essential: Experience working with eating disorders, preferably in a CAMHS setting.
  • Essential: HCPC Registration 
  • Desirable: Experience with ASD, OCD, or complex mental health presentations.

  • Strong skills in formulation, therapeutic interventions, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

  • Availability to work onsite for 3 days per week, including Mondays and Tuesdays or Wednesdays.
