These Band 6 CPN roles offer the opportunity to work within either a Community Mental Health Team or an Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) service. You will undertake urgent and routine mental health assessments, formulate risk, develop care and safety plans, and provide therapeutic interventions for adults with serious mental illness. The role also includes outpatient and community-based working, liaising with GPs, social care and third-sector services, monitoring physical health, administering depot medication and clozapine where appropriate, and delivering recovery-focused care within a multidisciplinary team.
To be successful in these roles, you will need a current and valid NMC registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Registered Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD). Previous experience working within Community Mental Health or Early Intervention services is essential, along with strong assessment, risk management and care coordination skills. Depot and clozapine competencies are highly desirable, as is previous experience supporting people living with Serious Mental Illness.
These are full-time locum positions working Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm, with an ASAP start. One contract runs until 30th September 2026, while the second role is ongoing with the contract length to be confirmed. There is a strong possibility of extension based on service needs.
