These Band 6 CPN opportunities are available within both the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) and the Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) service. Working across outpatient clinics and the community, you will undertake urgent and routine mental health assessments, formulate and manage risk, develop person-centred care and safety plans, and deliver therapeutic interventions to adults with complex mental health needs.
The roles involve working closely with GPs, social care, and third-sector partners, monitoring physical health, administering treatments for long-term mental health conditions including depot medication and clozapine where appropriate, and supporting recovery-focused care as part of a multidisciplinary team.
To be successful in these roles, you will need a current and valid NMC registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Registered Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD). Previous experience within Community Mental Health or Early Intervention services is essential, along with strong assessment, risk management and care coordination skills. Depot and clozapine competencies are desirable, and experience working with people living with Serious Mental Illness is highly beneficial.
These are full-time locum positions working Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm, with an ASAP start. The CMHT role is available until 30th September 2026, while the EIP position is ongoing with the contract length to be confirmed. Both roles offer the potential for extension based on service needs.
