We are currently looking for an experienced Clinical Psychologist to support an established specialist neurodevelopmental assessment service with the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) review following autism assessments.
The service provides comprehensive autism assessments for both children and adults, using recognised diagnostic tools and a multidisciplinary approach. The successful psychologist will join the MDT to review completed assessments, discuss clinical findings and contribute their specialist psychological opinion to the diagnostic process.
This is a flexible ad-hoc / freelance associate opportunity, requiring approximately 1–2 hours per week, with all MDT discussions held remotely.

You will be supporting an established multidisciplinary neurodevelopmental assessment service, providing Clinical Psychology input following completed autism assessments.
The role will focus on reviewing the available assessment information and contributing to the MDT discussion to help ensure a thorough and clinically appropriate diagnostic formulation.
Your duties will include:
• Reviewing completed ADI-R and ADOS-2 assessment findings
• Reviewing developmental history, clinical information and relevant supporting evidence
• Attending remote MDT diagnostic review meetings
• Providing specialist Clinical Psychology input to the MDT
• Contributing to clinical formulation and diagnostic discussions
• Considering presentations against relevant DSM-5 criteria
• Exploring differential diagnoses and co-occurring conditions where relevant
• Discussing complex or clinically unclear presentations with the wider MDT
• Providing professional clinical opinion based on the available assessment evidence
• Contributing to the overall diagnostic outcome
• Working collaboratively with other clinicians involved in the assessment process
• Maintaining high standards of clinical governance and confidentiality
The successful clinician will become part of the wider multidisciplinary diagnostic process, working alongside experienced professionals involved in autism assessments.
The MDT will review the information gathered throughout the assessment process, including the developmental interview and observational assessment, before reaching a diagnostic conclusion.
You will be expected to actively contribute your professional opinion, particularly where there are complex presentations, differential diagnoses or additional mental health/neurodevelopmental considerations.
We are looking for an experienced Clinical Psychologist with a strong background in autism and neurodevelopmental assessment.
To be considered, you will need:
• Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or equivalent recognised qualification
• Active HCPC registration
• Significant clinical experience working with autism and neurodevelopmental presentations
• Experience contributing to autism diagnostic assessments
• Strong understanding of DSM-5 autism diagnostic criteria
• Experience working within a multidisciplinary diagnostic team
• Understanding of structured autism assessment tools such as ADI-R and ADOS-2
• Strong clinical formulation and differential diagnosis skills
• Confidence discussing clinical findings and professional opinion within an MDT
• Experience working with both children and/or adults with neurodevelopmental presentations
• Excellent communication and collaborative working skills
• Ability to work independently within a remote clinical environment
You will also need:
• Active HCPC registration
• Appropriate professional indemnity insurance
• Up-to-date DBS
• Secure and confidential workspace suitable for remote MDT meetings
• Reliable internet connection
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with relevant information governance requirements
• Fully remote working
• Approximately 1–2 hours per week
• Flexible ad-hoc workload
• Suitable alongside existing NHS or private commitments
