We are supporting Health and Social Care with an urgent requirement in the Channel Isles CAMHS service for a Senior Nurse Practitioner with a strong ADHD and neurodevelopmental background. This is a 12 week contract suited to an experienced clinician who can confidently assess, monitor and support children and young people presenting with ADHD within a specialist CAMHS setting.

• Location: Channel Isles, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service
• Duration: 12 weeks
• Schedule: Full time, TBC
• Start Date: ASAP
• End Date: 12 weeks from start date
• Rate of Pay: £45 per hour, outside IR35

What the role will involve:

• Completing ADHD assessments, including developmental histories, clinical interviews, rating scales and use of DSM 5 diagnostic criteria
• Carrying out ADHD medication reviews and follow up appointments independently
• Monitoring treatment effectiveness and gathering clinical information to support medication decision making
• Undertaking physical health monitoring, including blood pressure, pulse, height, weight and growth monitoring
• Writing clear clinical reports and providing feedback to children, young people and their families
• Working closely with the wider CAMHS and neurodevelopmental MDT to support safe and effective care pathways

Requirements:

• Registered Mental Health Nurse with current NMC registration
• Significant experience working with children and young people with ADHD in CAMHS or a neurodevelopmental service
• Strong understanding of stimulant and non stimulant ADHD medication, titration, outcomes and side effects
• Confident recognising medication related concerns and escalating appropriately
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Full driving licence preferred

Working pattern and contract information:

This is a 12 week locum contract based in the Channel Isles, supporting the CAMHS neurodevelopmental pathway. Accommodation is supported, although not fully covered, and flights are covered at the start and end of the contract. The service requires someone able to work autonomously while contributing effectively to the wider multidisciplinary team.
