We are currently looking for a highly experienced Clinical Psychologist to support an established specialist neurodevelopmental assessment service associated with a Surrey-based private clinic.
The role will involve completing ADI-R assessments and, where appropriate, combined ADI-R and DIVA-5 / ACE assessments, alongside contributing to the wider Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) diagnostic process.
This is a flexible ad-hoc / freelance associate opportunity, ideal for an experienced Clinical Psychologist looking to undertake additional specialist assessment work alongside existing NHS or private commitments.

You will be joining an established multidisciplinary neurodevelopmental assessment service, working alongside experienced clinicians to support comprehensive autism and ADHD assessments.
The role is suited to a senior Clinical Psychologist with significant experience in neurodevelopmental assessments, who is confident conducting structured diagnostic interviews, developing complex clinical formulations and contributing professional opinion within an MDT.
Your duties will include:
• Conducting structured ADI-R assessments remotely
• Conducting DIVA-5 or ACE assessments where required
• Reviewing referral information and relevant clinical history
• Gathering detailed developmental and clinical histories
• Exploring functional impairment and presenting difficulties
• Scoring and interpreting relevant diagnostic assessment tools
• Developing robust clinical formulations
• Considering differential diagnoses and co-occurring presentations
• Linking clinical findings to relevant DSM-5 diagnostic criteria
• Attending and actively contributing to online MDT meetings
• Discussing clinical findings and diagnostic formulations with other experienced clinicians
• Contributing to the overall diagnostic outcome
• Completing comprehensive clinical reports and associated documentation
• Ensuring reports are completed within the required turnaround times
The assessment fees cover the complete clinical process, including preparation, interview, formulation, report writing, MDT and associated clinical work.
Standalone ADI-R Assessment – £550
Expected total time commitment: approximately 5 hours
Combined ADI-R + DIVA-5 / ACE Assessment – £825
Expected total time commitment: approximately 7.5 hours
The successful clinician will be an active member of the wider MDT, rather than simply completing the diagnostic interviews.
You will be expected to participate in online MDT meetings and contribute your specialist clinical opinion to diagnostic discussions and formulations.
The wider clinical team may include Consultant Paediatricians, Clinical Psychologists, Speech & Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Mental Health Nurses, providing access to a broad range of specialist expertise for complex cases.
Clinicians will be expected to complete the fully formulated assessment report within 48 hours following the MDT meeting.
There will also be a requirement for regular availability for online MDT meetings, with meetings potentially taking place during evenings or weekends where mutually agreed.
This is a senior clinical opportunity and is not intended for clinicians who are newly qualified or only beginning their experience in neurodevelopmental assessment.
To be considered, you will need:
• Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience
• Experience equivalent to an NHS Band 8a/8b level of clinical practice
• Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or equivalent recognised qualification
• Active HCPC registration
• Significant experience conducting complex neurodevelopmental assessments
• Formal training and demonstrable experience administering and scoring the ADI-R
• Formal training and experience with DIVA-5 and/or ACE
• Strong experience working with autism and ADHD across different presentations
• Experience contributing to multidisciplinary diagnostic assessments
• Strong understanding of differential diagnosis and co-occurring presentations
• Excellent clinical formulation and report-writing skills
• Confidence presenting clinical findings and professional opinion within an MDT
• Ability to work independently within a remote clinical environment
• Excellent clinical communication and rapport-building skills

• Up-to-date Enhanced DBS
• Appropriate professional indemnity insurance
• Active HCPC registration
• ICO registration
• Secure and confidential workspace suitable for remote clinical assessments
• Reliable internet connection suitable for professional telehealth appointments
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with relevant information governance requirements
• Fully remote working
