In this role, you will support adults with high?intensity and complex mental health needs, providing evidence?based, person?centred care. Responsibilities include:
• Managing a caseload of complex and highly complex service users
• Completing comprehensive mental health and risk assessments using advanced clinical reasoning
• Planning, delivering, monitoring, and modifying interventions based on client?centred goals
• Establishing therapeutic relationships using strong communication and negotiation skills
• Balancing risk, safety, independence, and client choice when setting treatment plans
• Participating in MDT meetings, ward rounds, clinics, and case discussions
• Liaising with families, carers, statutory agencies, and voluntary organisations
• Maintaining accurate documentation in line with Trust policy
• Providing guidance to junior staff and supporting safe incident reporting
• Respecting cultural, religious, and individual diversity in all aspects of care
• Delivering clinical leadership, contributing to service development, audits, and quality improvement
• Supervising students as a Practice Assessor/Supervisor
To be successful in this role, you will need:
• Current NMC registration (RMN or RN with relevant experience)
• Minimum 2–3 years’ post?registration experience within adult mental health services
• Strong assessment, care coordination, and risk management skills
• Experience managing complex caseloads within community or MDT settings
• Knowledge of safeguarding legislation for adults and children
• Confidence liaising with partner agencies and navigating multi?agency pathways • Commitment to CPD, reflective practice, and maintaining a professional portfolio • Immediate availability preferred
This is a stable, ongoing Band 6 locum position offering a consistent Monday–Friday schedule (9am–5pm). Ideal for practitioners seeking continuity, structured working hours, and a supportive MDT environment.
