Are you a Band 6 CPN looking for your next opportunity within a Community Mental Health Service?
We’re currently recruiting on behalf of a well?established NHS Mental Health Trust in Harlow for an experienced Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse to join the Essex Community Mental Health Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary service, carrying duty responsibilities, undertaking assessments, coordinating care, and delivering recovery?focused interventions for adults with complex mental health needs.
Role: Band 6 CPN – Senior Community Mental Health Practitioner Pay Rate: £27 per hour ? Location: Harlow ? Hours: Mon–Thurs, 9am–5pm (30 hours per week) ? Contract: ASAP start – 12?week ongoing placement
Act as duty practitioner, responding to new referrals, urgent calls, and clinical queries.
Undertake comprehensive mental health assessments, including risk, physical health, and psychosocial formulation.
Develop, implement, and evaluate personalised care plans aligned with recovery?focused practice.
Provide care coordination for an allocated caseload, ensuring safe and effective care delivery.
Conduct and oversee risk assessments, implementing appropriate risk?management plans.
Deliver psycho?social interventions, relapse?prevention strategies, and education for service users and carers.
Administer and monitor medication, reviewing side effects and concordance.
Attend and contribute to weekly MDT meetings.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with NMC and Trust standards.
Provide supervision and support to junior staff and students.
Participate in audits, service development, and quality improvement activities.
£250 Referral Bonus
Competitive £27 per hour
Mon–Thurs, 9am–5pm (30 hours)
12?week ongoing contract
Dedicated consultant support throughout
Current registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN)
Strong experience within community mental health services
Skilled in clinical assessment, risk management, and care coordination
Experience contributing to CPA processes
Ability to work autonomously as duty practitioner
Excellent communication, organisation, and decision?making skills
Commitment to evidence?based, recovery?focused practice
