Substance Misuse Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP)
Pay rate: £60 per hour
Hours: Full-time (flexible)
Duration: Ongoing
Location: Near Wakefield

Overview:
We are supporting a specialist Drug & Alcohol Service near Wakefield with a requirement for an experienced Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP). This role sits within a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality, person-centred care to individuals with substance misuse needs.

You will be responsible for managing a caseload and delivering safe, effective prescribing interventions, with a strong focus on recovery, harm reduction and clinical governance.

Key responsibilities:
• Manage a caseload of service users within a substance misuse service
• Deliver opiate substitute therapy (OST) prescribing and ongoing reviews
• Assess, initiate and manage alcohol detox programmes in the community
• Develop and review personalised prescribing and care plans
• Carry out risk assessments and contribute to safeguarding processes
• Work closely within an MDT, including recovery workers and clinicians
• Provide harm reduction advice and support engagement with services
• Maintain high-quality clinical records and documentation

Requirements:
• Qualified Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) – Nurse or Pharmacist
• Strong experience within a drug and alcohol / substance misuse setting
• Experience prescribing OST and/or alcohol detox programmes
• Confident managing a caseload independently
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and risk management
• Excellent communication and report writing skills
