- Working Days: Monday to Friday
- Shift Pattern: 09:00 – 17:00
- Rate: £25.70 per hour

What You’ll Be Doing
As a Band 6 Inpatient Forensic Social Worker, you will work within a specialist forensic mental health setting supporting adult women in low secure services. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a complex caseload within an inpatient forensic mental health environment
- Completing comprehensive social care and risk assessments
- Contributing to multidisciplinary team meetings and care planning processes
- Supporting safeguarding investigations and ensuring best practice is maintained
- Working within relevant legal frameworks including the Care Act, Mental Health Act, and Mental Capacity Act
- Providing specialist social work input to support patient recovery and discharge planning
- Maintaining accurate clinical records and reports
- Working collaboratively with service users, carers, community teams, and external agencies
Requirements & Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
- Previous experience within forensic mental health and/or inpatient mental health services
- Strong caseload management experience, including complex cases and presentations
- Specialist skills and knowledge relevant to forensic mental health practice
- Experience applying evidence-based and reflective practice in assessments and interventions
- Experience of safeguarding processes and leadership structures
- Sound understanding and application of the Care Act, Mental Health Act, and Mental Capacity Act
- Excellent communication and multidisciplinary working skills
Working Hours & Contract Duration
This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00. The role is available to start ASAP and is expected to run on an ongoing basis.
