Position: Band 7 CAMHS Practitioner Locum (Community Psychiatric Nurse, Social Worker) - Team Leader
Pay Rate: £30 per hour
Start Date: ASAP
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
Duration: Long-term placement
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of CAMHS practitioners, providing guidance, support, and supervision to ensure high standards of care and effective team performance.
- Complex Caseload Management: Handle a complex caseload, conducting thorough assessments, formulating care plans, and delivering interventions for children and adolescents with diverse and acute mental health needs.
- Holistic Assessments: Undertake comprehensive assessments of children and adolescents, providing a detailed formulation of their needs and developing tailored support plans.
- Risk Assessment and Safety Planning: Evaluate risks and develop robust safety plans to ensure the wellbeing and safety of children and adolescents.
- Safeguarding: Demonstrate Level 3 safeguarding knowledge, identify signs of abuse, and understand when and how to refer to social care and other relevant agencies.
- Expert Advice: Provide expert advice to colleagues and other professionals on managing complex mental health presentations and associated risks.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, contemporaneous records in line with the NMC code of conduct and trust policies.
- Communication and Engagement: Exhibit strong communication and engagement skills, fostering positive interactions with children, families, and other professionals.
- Organisational Skills: Display excellent organisational abilities and the capacity to manage workload efficiently and effectively under pressure.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Professional Registration: Current registration with the NMC (for CPNs) or HCPC (for Social Workers).
- Experience: Significant experience in a CAMHS setting, with expertise in handling complex cases and leading a team.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of safeguarding procedures, mental health legislation, and best practices in child and adolescent mental health care.
- Skills: High level of competence in conducting assessments, formulating care plans, managing risk, and providing leadership and supervision.
